February 12, 2025 Board meeting

REGULAR BOARD MEETING               

February 12, 2025

          

Chairman Kudick called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.   He then led everyone in the pledge of allegiance. Roll call showed Supervisors Belanger, McCabe, and Stradal, Treasurer Uhazie, Attorney Coggins, and Clerk Olson, in attendance along with 10 others.

Supervisor Stradal moved to adopt the agenda with the following changes: removal of operator licenses, budget amendments, and Tony Olson and addition of the addendum. Second by Supervisor McCabe. Carried.

Minutes of the January 8, 2025 Board meeting and January 23, 2025 Special Board meeting were approved with a motion by Supervisor Belanger, second by Supervisor Stradal, and carried.

Treasurer Uhazie’s financial report showed the following balances as of January 31, 2025

           Stephenson National Bank General Fund                                   $     71,830.79

A motion was made by Supervisor Stradal to accept the Treasurer’s report, seconded by Supervisor Belanger and carried.

Vouchers #52157 through #52213, payroll charges, and EFT payments were approved as presented with a motion by Supervisor

Stradal, second by Supervisor McCabe, and carried. There were 2 vouchers that were questioned - #52167 and #52171.

Under Correspondence, the Clerk had received a request from Brightspeed for a letter of support. This is on the agenda for tonight.

Department reports were given for Fire by Chief Jim Stradal, Canine by Mike Stueck, Recycling by Supervisor Belanger, the Building Inspector report and the Code Enforcer report by Chairman Kudick. There was no Public Works report.

Hugh Guy Surveying, presented CSM 2025-2 for Fr. Robert C Kacalo for 3 lots, located in the SW ¼ of the SE ¼, of Sec 21, T33N-R18E, in the Town of Stephenson, Marinette County, Wisconsin, with ingress and egress to Ranch Road. Motion to approve by Supervisor Stradal, second by Supervisor Belanger, and carried.

Pat Long, from Silverline Property Solutions introduced himself to the Board and spoke of the business he owns in the Town of Stephenson. He does property clean up, junk removal, and general contracting. He gave the Board members his business card and stated that he does these services for individuals as well as governments and businesses.

Chairman Kudick presented the changes he would like to see made to Ordinance Title 7 Chapter 1. He spoke with the Attorney about some of the changes he would like to see in the Ordinance. Attorney Coggins will check in to them. He would like the Board members to go over the Ordinance for any changes they see may need to be made and this will be brought back to the Board for possible action in March.

Supervisor Belanger made a motion to send a letter of support for Brightspeed endorsing Bertram Communications for the Broadband. Supervisor McCabe offered a second. Chairman Kudick volunteered the Clerk to write and send the letter. Motion carried.

The changes for the Intergovernmental Agreement and Ordinance for the Near North Municipal Court were approved with a motion by Supervisor Belanger, second by Supervisor Stradal, and carried. This change will move the Court to the Public Safety Building at 801 Main Street in Crivitz, if all municipalities approve.

An event permit for Twin Bridge Ski Club Inc for High Falls Radar Run on February 22, 2025 at the Town Park on Boat Landing 3 Road was approved with the motion by Supervisor Stradal. Second by Supervisor Belanger offered a second and told them he wants them to make sure they clean up the garbage after the event. Motion carried.
