GUIDELINES FOR OBTAINING BUILDING PERMITS
Sanitary Permit (if any plumbing/septic installed or re-connected or moved)

Parcel Number (from tax statement)
Name and License Numbers of Contractors:
General (must have DC & DCQ), Electrical, HVAC, & Plumbing
Two (2) Complete Sets of Building Plans – Plus one (1) set on site at all times
Plot Plan showing where building is located on property (showing setbacks)
Estimated Cost of Project
Energy Calculations (heat loss) Can obtain from HVAC contractor
Building Location
Any Decks, Garages, etc and their Square Footage
SETBACKS
(Measured from overhang of roof, not building itself)
Town Road and County Hwy: 75’ from center of road
State Hwy: 110’ from center of road
Private Road: No setback from center of road (Please consider snow plowing/maintenance)
ALL ROAD HAVE A 10’ SETBACK FROM SIDE AND REAR LOT LINES
Reminder: There is a 25’ aggregate between buildings.
If you are on a corner lot with two (2) road frontages, you must maintain two (2) center of road setbacks.
FEE SCHEDULE
The Agency will collect the fees from applicants at the time of permit issuance.
Inspection requests shall be made by applicant or their designee.
One and Two Family Dwelling: (includes 8 inspections)
$350.00 plus .15 cents per square foot (finished)

30.00 State Seal
Manufactured Dwelling: (includes 3 inspections)
$200.00 plus .15 cents per square foot of site built areas
30.00 State Seal (if applicable)
Manufactured Home: (includes 3 inspections) $200.00
Addition/Remodel up to 600 square feet $150.00 (Add $50 if plumbing included)
over 600 square feet $200.00 (Add $50 if plumbing included)
Relocate Structure: $200.00 Basement Only: $50.00 Raze: $30.00
Decks & Garages: $30.00 Sheds (up to 180 sq. ft): $10.00
Driveway/Fire Number: $25.00 ea. Variance: $275.00 Wood Stove: $10.00
Electrical Inspections (New Service): $50.00
Starting without a permit – 2x original permit cost
Missed Inspections/Additional non-compliance Inspections - $50.00 each
Permit shall expire 2 years after issuance if the exterior is not complete.
Permit Renewal – 50% of original fee
Plan Reviews, Early Starts, Handicap ramps, Occupancy Permits – no charge
